State police at Hazleton

State police at Hazleton reported on the following:

• Joanfi J. Ozoria, 21, of Tresckow, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a crash at 7:04 p.m. Oct. 27 on North Chestnut Street in Tresckow. She was uninjured.

Police said she was driving a Mitsubishi Endeavor southbound and went around a curve too fast for conditions. The car struck a stone wall, spun around and struck the wall a second time, police said.

The car was towed from the scene.

• A 44-year-old Rock Glen man was charged with harassment when police received a complaint about an incident at 3:08 p.m. Oct. 29 on South Lehigh Gorge Drive, Lehigh Township.

They said the victims are a 34-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl, both from Weatherly.

• Nicole Boerner, 42, of Beaver Meadows, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police conducted a traffic stop at 12:50 a.m. Oct. 28 on South Poplar Street, Hazleton.

She was driving a 2016 Toyota Corolla at the time.

• Pamela C. Hoppes, 56, of Weatherly, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 5:20 p.m. Nov. 7 on the Quakake Road in Packer Township. She was driving a 2014 Subaru Forester eastbound when a deer entered the roadway in front of the car. The car was towed from the scene.

• A 59-year-old Beaver Meadow man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police conducted a traffic stop at 12:40 a.m. Oct. 27 at the intersection of Rose and Berwick streets in Beaver Meadows.

Police said he was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado when he was stopped for Motor Vehicle Code violations.

• Police arrested a 36-year-old woman from Junedale for shoplifting after they were called at 4:58 p.m. Nov. 2 to the Walmart Supercenter, Airport Road, Hazle Township.

Police said it is alleged she “skip-scanned” $116.07 worth of miscellaneous items at the store’s self-checkout section.
