Senior Citizens
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Nov. 2 with 23 members in attendance. The meeting was opened with the reading of “God’s Wondrous Blessings” offered by the president of the group. Jean Machamer was surprised with a visit from her sister and sister-in-law for her 90th birthday that she will celebrate on Nov. 14. All members received a meal and cupcake. Christmas decorations were won by Nancy Godenis.
The group meets at 1 p.m. every Thursday at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.
Zion Lewistown
Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday at Zion Church, Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
Calvary Lewistown
Pastor Kim will offer the message this Veterans Day Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in Calvary Evangelical Church, Lewistown Valley. Samaritan’s Purse Christmas project shoe boxes will be presented and a prayer of blessing will be offered. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. Evening worship is at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday evening prayer is at 7 p.m.
Nov. 19 is Thanksgiving/Harvest Home at the 10:30 a.m. service. Bring nonperishable foods, fruits and vegetables the present to the pastor.
