Five Northern Lehigh School Board incumbents score wins
There will be no changes on Northern Lehigh School Board in December based on unofficial results from Tuesday’s General Election.
Retaining the five four-year seats were Republican Robert L Kern Jr., Republican Natalie S. Snyder, Gale Husack (cross-filed); Mathias Green (cross-filed), and Donna Kulp.
Kern finished as the top vote-getter in Lehigh County with 1,300 votes, followed by Snyder (1,230), Husack (1,165), Green (1,118) and Kulp (1,050).
Democratic newcomers Angela Williams trailed behind with 846 votes, followed by Glenn Williams with 786. There were 38 write-in votes.
In Northampton County, Kern was again the top vote-getter with 186 votes, followed by Snyder (179), Kulp (171), Husack (161) and Green (160).
Glenn Williams trailed behind with 156, along with Angela Williams at 151. There were seven write-in votes.
Three newcomers will join an incumbent on Slatington Borough Council.
Newcomer Democrat Ryan E. Mayberry finished as the top vote-getter with 370 votes, followed by incumbent Republican Kevin Steckel (366), newcomer Republican Walter Niedermeyer (319) and newcomer Republican David R. Schaars (283) to capture four four-year seats.
Missing out were incumbent Republican Bryon C. Reed (277), Democrat Thomas Bartholomew (249), and Democrat Kris Burek (230). There were also 13 write-in votes.
There was also a 2-year term for tax collector. Incumbent Jon Rinker ran unopposed and secured 582 votes. There were also six write-in votes.
Incumbent Democrats David Stankovic (198 votes), Michael Gaston (197) and Harold C. Greene (179) ran unopposed to retain three four-year seats open on Walnutport Borough Council. There were 30 write-in votes.
Newcomer Republican David Wentling ran unopposed and got 195 votes to win an open two-year seat on council. There were 51 write-in votes.
Incumbents Republican Cindy Miller (249 votes) and Michael F. Jones (cross-filed) (195) won two six-year seats on the Lehigh Township board of supervisors after defeating Democratic incumbent Phillip Gogel (191).
Winning four four-year seats on the Lehigh County Board of Commissioners were incumbent Democrat Dan Hartzell, who was the top vote-getter with 38,980 votes, and Democratic newcomers Sheila Alvarado (36,501), April Riddick (35,569), and Jon Irons (34,022).
Incumbent Democrat Mark Pinsley was re-elected after he bested 39,476 votes to top Republican Robert E. Smith Jr. in the race for a four-year seat as county controller.
Incumbent Democrat Daniel Buglio won re-election after he garnered 41,281 votes to best Republican Joseph Zitarelli for a four-year term for Lehigh County Coroner.
Incumbent Republican Michael J. Faulkner won re-election for a six-year term as Magisterial District Judge after he earned 8,282 votes to top Democrat Julie Tamerler, who ended with 7,442.
