A Nesquehoning woman waived a preliminary hearing and agreed to plead guilty to a charge of endangering the welfare of children.

Tracy Marziani, 23, is accused of leaving her 3-year-old son alone in her residence while she went to a local bar.Patrolman Carl Breiner, the investigating officer, said the incident happened at about 9:36 p.m. on July 18.According to the affidavit, the Nesquehoning Police Department received a call that a 3-year-old child was alone in an apartment on West High Street.When police investigated, they found the child unattended and contacted the youngster's father, who doesn't live with Marziani but does live near-by. Also contacted were Children and Youth Services, who directed that the child be turned over to the father, the police document says.It was not known how long Marziani was gone from the apartment.The affidavit states that Marziani was contacted and told to come to the police station the next day. She allegedly admitted to police "that she left 3-year-old .... home alone while she went to a local bar for a drink." Police said although she made verbal admission, she refused to give a written statement.Police said the individual who called them on the matter said the child was "crying and calling for his mother approximately 30 minutes prior to him calling police." A police officer said he was also on the scene for about 30 additional minutes prior to taking the child to the father."For approximately one hour Marziani was absent from her son's location and it is unknown how long after she came home," the affidavit reads.The hearing had been scheduled before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek of Lansford.
