A Schuylkill County man suffered a "medical episode" which caused him to crash his vehicle. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred about 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 28, along Brick Hill Road, near Schaeffer's Harley-Davidson business in West Brunswick Township.

Troopers said Fred Boltz, 44, of Orwigsburg, was driving a 1990 Dodge Ram pickup truck westbound when he suffered the medical episode. The truck left the road along the north berm, traveled about 68 feet before impacting with a Verizon utility pole. After impacting with the pole the truck traveled a tenth of a mile before coming to rest in the westbound lane.Boltz was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center East, Pottsville, by Orwigsburg ambulance. The truck had to be towed from the scene.The roadway was closed for about 11 hours until the pole was replaced.
