November 3, 1993 - Pleasant Valley’s field hockey team shuts out Easton to advance to the District 11 Class 3A championship game. The Bears, coached by Kathy Donato, receive a goal in each half to earn the victory in a semifinal matchup played at Nazareth. Kim Singleton breaks a scoreless tie with 10:27 left in the opening half when she collects a rebound off a Jaime Szulborski shot and fires it into the cage. Szulborski gives PV an insurance tally early in the second half when she scores off a scramble in front of the cage. Bears goalie Nora Orta makes three saves to earn the shutout win.
