Two more members are still being sought to serve on Palmerton’s Quality of Life Board of Appeals.
Borough Manager Autumn Canfield said at Thursday’s borough council meeting that to date, just one person has expressed interest in serving on the board.
Canfield said a minimum of three people are needed, and added that the borough is still accepting letters of interest, which can be sent to the borough office.
A minimum of three people are needed, and they cannot be borough employees.
In August, council unanimously approved the Quality of Life Board of Appeals, which is part of the International Property Maintenance Code.
Canfield said the borough’s code enforcement officer will still enforce the code and issue citations.
She said that the board of appeals would only be an avenue for people who want to contest the ticket, much like a zoning hearing board for those who want to contest zoning violations.
