Palmerton residents should have a new choice for banking by the end of next month.

People First Federal Credit Union, to be located on 330 Delaware Ave., anticipates it will open by late November.

“We still don’t have a specific opening date,” said Nina Bonavita, Chief Operating Officer, People First Federal Credit Union. “There’s still some construction (that needs to be done).”

Both People First Federal Credit Union, and Palmerton Pharmacy, are tenants of Joe Bennett, property owner.

Previously, the property where People First Federal Credit Union will be located had been the former BB & T Bank, which closed its branch office on July 20, 2021.

People First is a federally chartered and insured credit union that has been serving the Lehigh Valley since 1950.

It is open to residents in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio, and West Virginia.

The credit union offers a wide array of personal and business banking products and services at highly competitive rates and with low or no fees.

The credit union is not-for-profit financial cooperative.

Branches throughout the Lehigh Valley, in Allentown, Bethlehem, Nazareth, Trexlertown, and Whitehall. Automated Teller Machines are located throughout the area.
