State police at Hazleton - crashes

State police at Hazleton reported on the following crashes:

• Dylan A. Williams, 31, of 525 North St., Jim Thorpe, was issued a written warning after a crash at 11:57 a.m. Oct. 10 on Interstate 81 in Hazle Township.

Police said he was driving a 2018 Mazda southbound on the Interstate when he failed to yield to a 2022 Kenworth driven by Jacob Leonard, 20, of Columbia, Pennsylvania, and struck it while attempting to the left lane of travel where the latter vehicle was traveling.

No one was injured in the incident. Police said both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.

• Brittani A. Schroeder, 34, of Weatherly, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 12:04 a.m. Oct. 14 on Tamaqua Street in Beaver Meadows.

Police said the severity of her injuries is unknown. She was not transported to a medical facility after the crash.

Police said she was driving a 2019 Toyota Corolla eastbound at an extremely high rate of speed when she lost control of the vehicle and it struck a tree. Police said she had to be extricated from the unit by volunteers from the Weatherly and Beaver Meadows fire departments.

The vehicle was towed from the scene and Schroeder was cited for the crash.
