Northern Lehigh School Board approved the following matters this month:

Curriculum and Instruction

• An addendum contract with Pediatric Therapeutic Services for building substitute teachers and per diem substitutes for the 2023-2024 school year. Regular education per diem/permanent substitute teachers, along with special education per diem/permanent substitute teachers will make $66.99.

• Apple Tree Education Associates agreement to provide school psychologist services to assist the special education department, to be funded through the special education department.

• Helping teacher Lynn Werley-Olesak for inductee Jennifer Madtes, for the 2023-2024 school year, $200.

• An affiliation agreement between the district and Kutztown University for student teachers.

Conferences

• Scott Pyne, PDE SAS Institute, Dec. 11-13, Hershey Lodge, Hershey, with the cost of lodging, $493, travel, $103, and meals, $75, for a total cost of about $671, to be funded through the assistant superintendent’s professional development budget.

• Blasia Dunham, PDE SAS Institute, Dec. 11-13, Hershey Lodge, Hershey, with the cost of travel $103, and meals, $50, for a total cost of about $153, to be funded through the assistant superintendent’s professional development budget.

• Sue Beil, 2023 PAPBS Network and MTSS Implementers’ Forum: Building Community from Science to Practice, Nov. 1-2, Hershey Lodge, Hershey, with the cost of registration, $85, lodging, $229, and meals, $100, for a total cost of about $414, to be funded through the Slatington Elementary building budget.

Other

• A $1,000 stipend through March of 2024 for Eric Hill for work related to child accounting not included in his current job description.

- Terry Ahner
