State police at Lehighton
State police at the Lehighton barracks have reported on recent incidents:
• A 70-year-old woman from Annville is the victim of a criminal mischief incident that happened between 3-3:30 p.m. Oct. 11 on Interchange Road in Towamensing Township.
Police said her 2021 Honda was vandalized in the parking lot of a business.
• Police were called to a cruelty to animals report at 12:50 a.m. Aug. 30 on Spruce Hollow Road in Towamensing Township. Police said the complainant reported cattle not being cared for properly.
• A 53-year-old Kresgeville man is the victim of a theft by deception incident that was reported to police at 9:20 a.m. Oct. 7. The woman told police she is out $1,000 after applying for a rental property that was nonexistent.
• A 40-year-old man from Delaware Water Gap is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop police made at 2:15 a.m. Oct. 14 at the intersection of Route 209 and Dairy Lane in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said they stopped him for a Motor Vehicle Code violation while he was driving a 2012 Nissan Altima.
• Police were called to a trespassing and theft incident at 1:32 p.m. Oct. 12 at 4174 Forest Drive in Polk Township.
But they said that upon investigating the incident it was determined it was a miscommunication between the parties.
• Police said they were summoned to check into the welfare of a woman at 7:46 a.m. Oct. 11 at a property at Golf and Fireline roads in Lower Towamensing Township.
The response yielded an active Protection From Abuse order had been violated.
• Police are calling an incident they responded to a “harassment, cyber disparaging statement against a child.”
They were summoned to a Lower Towamensing property where it was reported someone posted multiple disparaging images and statements about a juvenile on social media.
• Police responded to an identity theft incident but said upon investigating the incident found the report was unfounded. They were called at 2:05 p.m. Oct. 6 to a property on Sassafras Lane in Polk Township.
• An 83-year-old Saylorsburg woman is the victim of a theft by deception incident that police responded to at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at a property on Blue Mountain Circle, Ross Township. Police said she was deceived into purchasing gift cards at various locations and provided the suspect with the information on the cards.
