Birosik completes the 3.1-mile course in a time of 16:52, six seconds ahead of Ryan Stevens of Freeland MMI. Birosik’s teammate Josh Kunkel places third in 17:09. Panther Valley, led by John’s Barachie’s seventh-place finish, earns second in the team standings behind Shamokin. In the girls event, Tamaqua’s Mary Lichtenberger crosses in second place behind Pottsville’s Kelly Brennan. Lichtenberger’s time is 20:33.
