State police at the Lehighton barracks released information on several incidents:
• An 83-year-old Saylorsburg man is the victim of a theft by deception incident that police were called to at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at a property on Blue Mountain Circle, Ross Township.
Police said the investigation revealed the man provided funds to a suspect through deceptive tactics.
• A 26-year-old Palmerton woman is the victim of a theft of services case. Police were called at midnight Oct. 6 to a property on Interchange Road, Towamensing Township, where the woman related a female on Facebook requested the victim post local housing listings on the platform in return for $500 a week.
The victim said she never received payment and was contacted by other people relating they were “scammed” when they sent money to the female through Zelle without seeing the properties first.
• A 41-year-old Lehighton woman was cited for simple trespass after police were called to an incident at 10:44 p.m. Oct. 3 on Cliffside Drive, Penn Forest Township.
A 30-year-old man from Jim Thorpe filed the trespassing complaint.
• Police said they were summoned to the lobby of the barracks for a possible assault on a 6-year-old Saylorsburg boy. They said the reported incident took place between 9 a.m. Sept. 29 and 6 p.m. Oct. 1.
• A 76-year-old Saylorsburg man was charged with burglary after police were called to a Protection From Abuse violation at 3:52 p.m. Sept. 26.
It happened on Michael Street in Ross Township. The victim is a 35-year-old woman from Saylorsburg.
Police said the man was taken into custody and transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, where he was committed.
