The Carbon County Agricultural Stabilization Service held its second annual banquet on Wednesday in the Mahoning Valley Volunteer Fire Company, honoring people for their outstanding efforts toward conservation in the past year.

Robert Beblavy, Palmerton, was selected as the Conservation Farmer of the Year while Robert Zovak of the county’s Sportsmen’s Association was named Conservationist of the Year.

Among the other award winners were the fire wardens of District 18 whose group was named Conservation Organization of the Year, and Sarina Berlow of Lower Towamensing Township, who was honored for her outstanding achievement in forestry.
