In today’s world, America is so politically driven that politics are even becoming too political.

I’m not saying that it’s not great to stand by your beliefs and fight for what you feel is right, but come on, Congress and the state legislature are failing to see the big picture.

I know I’ll probably hear from some extreme right or left wing followers over this, but I’m sorry, America has lost the message that this country was built upon.

Our forefathers didn’t want government to take away your guns, nor did they want to debate over a woman’s body, but here we are, with these topics front and center.

What happened to a country that was built with a government “of the people, by the people, for the people?” Abraham Lincoln would be disappointed.

We have made so many technical advances in our country. We are envied by others, and yet, we have government in such turmoil that they can’t even agree on who is going to keep the lights on in the meeting room or who will lead the House.

I’m not political. My husband would say I’m blissfully politically ignorant.

I don’t like to follow politics. I don’t like to play politics.

Do I care that John Fetterman dons sweatshirts instead of suits in Congress? No, because it doesn’t affect how he does (or doesn’t) do his job.

Do I think Kevin McCarthy was wrong for reaching across the aisle to get a deal in place to keep government working. Also, no.

Political views today are so skewed toward the party they support and not the people of this country that it’s sad.

We need change; but the change doesn’t seem to want to come because of the “old boys’ club rules.”

Too many people are for the party that the people they serve are the ones that get hurt.

It’s the mothers who work hard, not only at a job, but also trying to raise a family.

It’s the fathers who have to miss out on their children’s activities so they can work to keep a roof over their heads and food on their table.

It’s the brothers and sisters who need that extra help to pay a bill or make a life changing decision only to be told the money isn’t there to help.

It’s you. It’s me. It’s all of us who are not getting supported by the men and women who are elected to support us.

But until government gets their heads out of their ... well you know what ... America, this great country, is going to continue down a very political, very stagnant path.

We need change. We need politics to stop being so political.

We are American, no matter if we bleed Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Independent or Birthday parties.

We have the power. We have the voice.

Let’s use it.
