Arts group, nature center putting on art show this weekend

Two local nonprofit organizations are joining together to present a fall art show at Lehigh Gap Nature Center’s Osprey House in Slatington from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free.

The Carbon County Art League, in collaboration with the nature center, have gathered various types of art from 29 artists who have submitted 76 pieces for the show. Types include oil, acrylic and watercolor paint, photography, and several kinds of artisanal work. Many pieces will be for sale.

Attendees are invited to vote for their favorite piece of art, and the winner will receive the People’s Choice Award during the Artist’s Reception at 4 p.m. Sunday. Many of the artists will be on hand for the reception and will be available to talk to visitors.

“With the rainy weekend predicted, here is an opportunity for an indoor activity you can enjoy despite the weather. Come out to see the artwork of our many talented local artists, photographers, and artisans.” league and nature center member Lee Kunkle said,
