State police at Frackville

State police at the Frackville barracks have released information on several incidents:

• An 83-year-old woman from Tuscarora is the victim of a theft by deception incident reported at 3:15 p.m. Oct. 2.

Police said the victim received fraudulent telephone calls from people claiming to be representatives of Amazon and the Federal Trade Commission. The callers advised the woman they needed her personal information due to suspicious transactions on her Amazon account.

Police said the woman provided the callers her information but she has not sustained any financial loss.

• Tyler Elo, 31, of Cumbola, is facing a charge of prohibited offensive weapons after police were called to a verbal domestic incident at 5:54 p.m. Oct. 3 at a property on Water Street in Blythe Township.

Police said troopers detained him after he was found to be possession of the weapon and drug paraphernalia.

• Two vehicles were damaged in an incident at 5:42 a.m. Sept. 16 on Skyline Drive, just north of the intersection with Darkwater Road in New Castle Township.

Police said Douglas R. Wehnke, 35, of New Boston, was driving a 2020 Dodge Fam truck southbound when its right front tire hit a culvert and detached, the vehicle coming to rest in the left lane.

Police said a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by Eric P. Schaeffer, 49, of Pottsville, was southbound when it his the detached tire in the left lane.

Police said both vehicles sustained disabling damages and were towed from the scene.

No one was injured in the incident.

Two 13-year-old Lansford boys were cited for disorderly conduct after police were called to the area of East Phillips and Coal streets in Coaldale at 3:13 p.m. Sept. 4.

Police said they were setting fires in a wooded area above the intersection.
