October 10, 1980 - Randy Phillips tosses a pair of touchdown passes to Craig Scheffler to help Slatington gain a 28-26 Centennial League victory over Pocono Mountain. Phillips hits Scheffler with a 59-yard scoring strike early in the third quarter and the two connect again from 19 yards out later in the period. The Bulldogs’ rushing attack also has success, compiling 227 yards - 48 of them coming on a touchdown run by Dale Beck. The winners, coached by Dick Snell, also receive a 1-yard scoring run from Butch Rauch.
