BARC hosts annual dog show, hike

Bowmanstown Area Residents Connected, in partnership with the Delaware Lehigh National Heritage Corridor, PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and St Luke’s University Health Network, announces the 10th Annual Community Dog Show on Saturday.

The event will begin at 9 a.m. with a Get Your Tail on the Trail dog walk meeting at the Marvin Gardens trailhead in East Penn Township. Participants are encouraged to register with “Get Your Tail on the Trail” at tailonthetrail.org to take part in DLNHC and St. Luke’s University Health Network’s public health challenge to log miles on the trail. (Pups must be leashed and dog-friendly.)

The dog show will be held at the Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Company grove and registrations will take place from 11 until 11:30 a.m. With 10 hilarious categories; best dog costume, best dog trick, best tail wagger, liveliest dog, fluffiest dog, cutest dog, manliest dog, girliest dog, most expressive “puppy eyes,” and best dog/owner look-alike.

Entry fees for each category will be $5 per category per dog, and all proceeds will support BARC and the community of Bowmanstown.

There will be a basket raffle and a silent auction with donations from 75-100 community-oriented local businesses, vendors, and food provided by BARC.

”What’s not to love about it?” stated Kara Scott, president of BARC. “It’s a fun day filled with laughter, great conversation, and plenty of pups getting lots of love and attention. We are raising funds to enhance our Borough, and have a great day with friends and neighbors.”

BARC is grateful for community sponsors and local businesses.
