Lehighton State police

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported on several incidents:

• The theft of a roll of rubber roofing valued at $1,000 was reported by a McAdoo man.

The man told police the theft occurred between 2 p.m. May 15 and 12:27 a.m. Oct. 3 at a property located at 80 Coyote Drive, Penn Forest Township.

• A 51-year-old Ashfield man was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop. It happened at 8:57 p.m. Sept. 17 at the intersection of Church Hill and Church View roads in East Penn Township. Police said he was stopped in a 1995 Mercedes-Benz for violations of Title 75. Police said it was also determined the man had bypassed the ignition interlock of the vehicle.

* A 50-year-old Saylorsburg woman is the victim of a theft by deception/identity theft incident that police were called to at 3:29 p.m. Sept. 26 at a property on Interchange Road in Towamensing Township. Police said she told them someone opened a Hotmail account in her name.
