Nesquehoning
Historical Society
The Nesquehoning Historical Society will hold a bus trip to Lancaster on Oct. 21.
The bus leaves CVS parking lot at 8 a.m. Those attending are asked to be there no later than 7:45 a.m.
The day will include stops at Kitchen Kettle Village; the Rock Ford Plantation, a persevered 18th century home of Dr. Edward Hand; the Snyder Gallery; ending with a supper at the home of our Amish friends.
The bus is expected to be home by 8:30 p.m.
Cost for the trip is $75.

Summit Hill
Historical Society
The Summit Hill Historical Society museum, located at the Heritage Center, 1 W. Hazard St., will be open for browsing from 10 a.m. to noon on Sept. 30.
Senior Center
The menu at the Panther Valley Senior Center for the week of Oct. 2-6 is:
Monday: Salisbury Steak, Noodles, Peas and Carrots, Orange or Turkey and Ham Sandwich
Tuesday: Italian Sausage, Pasta, Broccoli and Cauliflower, Cookie or Chef Salad with Ham
Wednesday: BBQ Chicken, Sweet Potatoes, Brussels Sprouts, Cornbread, Pudding or Harvest Chicken Salad
Thursday: Lentil Soup, Salmon Croquette, Brown Rice, Green Beans, Peaches or Beef and Cheese Sandwich
Friday: Pork and Sauerkraut, Mashed Potatoes, Peas, Apple Slices or Chicken Salad Sandwich
The center also has announced upcoming events.
Wii Bowling on Oct. 2 at 11 a.m.; Bingo on Oct. 3 at 10:45 a.m.; Penn’s Peak Show on Oct. 4, center closed; Po-Keeno on Oct. 5 at 11 a.m.; Pancake Breakfast on Oct. 6 at 9:30 a.m. followed by Drumming Exercise at 11.
New members are always welcome.
