BOYS SOCCER
Northern Lehigh-Palisades
Northern Lehigh and Palisades battled to a 2-2 Colonial League tie.
Ethan Moore and Chayce LoPinto each scored for the Bulldogs (2-5-1). It was LoPinto’s first goal of the season.
Northern Lehigh’s James Stock recorded 12 saves in goal.
Weatherly-Schuylkill Haven
Schuylkill Haven defeated Weatherly, 10-0, in Schuylkill League action.
Michael Davies recorded 12 saves in goal for the Wreckers, who fell to 0-7 overall.
GIRLS SOCCER
Shenandoah-Jim Thorpe
Jim Thorpe cruised to a 6-0 win over visiting Shenandoah Valley.
Sarah Hartman and Iyana Sockwell sparked the Olympians (3-5 overall) with two goals apiece. Maddie Hill and Ella Cook both chipped in with single scores.
Jim Thorpe goalie Olivia Rosenberger grabbed four saves to secure the shutout.
Shenandoah Valley slipped to 1-6 on the season.
Palisades-Northern Lehigh
In a battle of Colonial League powers, Victoria Hanna’s goal lifted Northern Lehigh to a 1-0 victory over Palisades.
Gabriella Hanna assisted on her sister Victoria’s game-winning goal for the Bulldogs (7-1 overall; 5-1 CL), who were outshot 10-2 by the Pirates (7-1; 6-1).
NL keeper Dekotah Barthold grabbed eight saves to secure the shutout win.
Saucon Valley-Northwestern
Seven different players scored as Northwestern rolled to a 10-0 victory over visiting Saucon Valley.
With the win, the Tigers (10-0) remained undefeated on the season, while also punching their ticket to the postseason.
Cammy Fitch paced the Tigers with two goals and two assists.
Also contributing to the victory were, Brook Balliet (two goals); Sophia Schaffer (goal, two assists); Katie Brensinger (goal, two assists); Kherington Yezik (goal, assist); Amelia Glassberg (goal); Juliet Benvin (goal); Lexi Kercher (two assists); and Shelby Shupp (assist).
Pleasant Valley-Liberty
Morgan Ryals scored in the second overtime to lift Pleasant Valley to a 2-1 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory over Liberty.
Aryn Stivala, who assisted to Ryals’ game-winner, also tallied for the Bears. Stivala has now scored in five consecutive games.
PV, who outshot the Hurricanes by a 21-8 margin and hit the post four times and the crossbar twice during regulation, received four saves from keeper Sadie Rizzo.
The win, the Bears’ fifth in a row, lifts Pleasant Valley to 6-4.
VOLLEYBALL
Panther Valley-Nativity
In a battle of Schuylkill League powers, Panther Valley rallied for a 25-18, 20-25, 17-25, 25-22, 15-8 win over Nativity.
Riley McArdle recorded 23 kills, seven digs and three aces for the undefeated Panthers (8-0). Morgan Orsulak added 21 assists, two digs and five kills, while Caroline Breslin chipped in 18 digs and an ace.
Tamaqua-Jim Thorpe
Maggy Hallihan had 27 assists and six aces to lead Jim Thorpe to a 25-5, 25-11, 25-12 Schuylkill League sweep of Tamaqua.
JaeLynn Browdy (six kills, three digs and two aces); Kelsey Patton (five kills and one block); Brianna Snisky (eight kills, three aces and two blocks); and Brooke Mitzen (eight kills, three digs and two aces) also played well for Olympians, who won their fifth straight match and improved to 8-1 on the season.
Catasauqua-Northwestern
Shannon Green recorded 14 assists and two aces in a 3-0 Northwestern win over Catasauqua in Colonial League play.
Bailey Murray and Norah Silfies added seven kills apiece for the Tigers (5-6).
Marian-Minersville
Abbey Kluck had 24 kills and 16 digs as Marian rolled to a 25-12, 25-19, 25-13 Schuylkill League victory over Minersville.
Julia Meiss (35 assists, two kills); Isabella Horvat (11 digs and nine kills); and Zoe Katona (nine digs and one kill) also contributed strong play for the Fillies (8-2).
Palmerton-Notre Dame GP
Notre Dame of Green Pond defeated Palmerton, 25-8, 25-11, 25-21 in Colonial League play.
Jessica Heydt paced the Bombers (3-7 overall; 0-6 CL) with two blocks and two aces. Hailey Barry chipped in three kills.
Weatherly-Williams Valley
Williams Valley defeated Weatherly 25-18, 25-19, 25-19 in Schuylkill League play.
Rachel Rosenlund led the way for the Wreckers (0-9 overall) with five service points and four kills. Reina Whalen added five service points and two aces; Taylor Davidovich had five assists; and Kelly Reiner recorded two kills and two aces.
FIELD HOCKEY
Catasauqua-Palmerton
Palmerton edged Catasauqua, 3-2, in Colonial League play.
Celeste Hoffman, Sydney Frantz and Tessa Sander had goals for the Bombers (6-3). Cate Morgan added an assist.
PM West-Pleasant Valley
Emma DePalma and Michaela St. Louis both scored two goals as Pleasant Valley got its first victory of the season, defeating Pocono Mountain West 9-0 in Eastern Pennsylvania Conference action.
Mykaila Colandino, Alyssa Kroeger, Evelyn VanDerheyden, Gabby Kutzler and Molly Sobers all added single goals for Pleasant Valley (1-6-1). Sobers also had three assists, while Anayah Accilien chipped in two assists.
GIRLS TENNIS
Schuylkill Vy.-Jim Thorpe
Jim Thorpe rolled to a 7-0 victory over Schuylkill Valley.
The Olympians (3-8) were led by singles players Ashlynn Miller and Chloe Tantala, who both recorded straight set, 6-0, 6-0 wins. Ada Finsel and Noelanie Sepulreda were nearly as dominant as they both lost just a single game in their straight-set wins.

Palmerton’s Connor Hibell finished first in a multi-team Colonial League meet.
The Northwestern boys had the best record of any of the Times News area teams in the meet as they went 3-1 mark. The Northwestern girls finished 2-2, while both Palmerton and Northern Lehigh failed to record a team victory in either boys or girls action.
Xander Giandomenico led the way for the Tigers with a third-place finish, while teammates Sean Kershner and Greyson Wellings were sixth and seventh, respectively.
In girls action, Sophia Cornell recorded an area-best seventh-place finish, while the Bulldogs’ Emma Heil placed 10th.
