Lehighton High School graduate Corrine McConville is a member of the University at Albany Department of Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2023.
The enshrinement ceremony for the Hall of Fame Class of 2023 will take place on Sept. 29 starting at 6 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza-Desmond Hotel in Albany.
McConville was a four-year starter for Albany, and concluded her career ranked second in the field hockey program’s Division I era with 101 total points.
McConville earned her degree after finishing her playing career, last competing in 2013 and earning her degree in 2015.
She is joined in the class by Wayne Anderson ‘87 – Football; Joe Greene ‘21 – Men’s Track & Field; Frank Resetarits ‘07 – Men’s Lacrosse; and the 1973 Men’s Cross Country team.
“We are excited to restart our Hall of Fame induction ceremonies this fall,” said UAlbany Director of Athletics Mark Benson. “These inductees have competed at the highest level, and embody the best characteristics of what it means to be a Great Dane student-athlete. We look forward to honoring the Class of 2023 for their contributions to the rich history of UAlbany Athletics.”
2023 marks the first induction class since 2019. The annual enshrinement did not take place the following year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the UAlbany Athletics Selection Committee used the time to reformat and modernize the nomination and selection process. In the first year under this new process, the Committee enshrined the new class from a combined 31 individual and team nominations.
Established in 1986, the Class of 2023 is the 35th to be inducted into the UAlbany Athletics Hall of Fame, which has now enshrined a total of 156 members.
