A major consolidation move is being made by International Distribution Centers Inc., formerly Interstate Dress Carriers, which will affect the operations at the firm’s Mahoning Valley terminal.

Gerald Eskow, president of IDC, has denied reports the firm is closing the terminal. However, he admitted all routes handled from the Lehighton R. 1 facility will be transferred to terminals in Myerstown, Lebanon County, and Wilkes-Barre.

Currently, there are 55 unionized employees working at the Mahoning terminal. A determination on the status of their positions has not been made. At one time, IDC employed more than 200 drivers and dock workers at the local site.
