A motorcyclist has died from injuries suffered in a crash Friday night in West Penn Township.

Carbon County Coroner Robert Miller said David Faenza, 63, of West Penn Township, died at LVH-Carbon campus at 9:25 p.m.

The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. as Faenza was traveling along Route 895 and hit a deer just west of Dorset Road.

He was treated at the scene by members of the Penn Mahoning ambulance and Lehighton paramedics, was taken to a landing zone set up at the intersection of Routes 309 and 895 for LifeFlight 6. That flight was aborted and the biker was transported by ambulance to LVH-Carbon.

West Penn fire police shut down the road. West Penn Township police are investigating.
