The board of directors of the Dime Bank of Lansford announced today the signing of agreements with the Pennsylvania National Bank and Trust Company, Pottsville, for the purpose of merging the two banks.

The Dime Bank will become the Lansford office of the Pottsville bank, which already operates 18 offices in Schuylkill, Columbia, Dauphin and Northumberland counties.

The exchange plan calls for the owners of each share of stock in the Dime Bank to receive 10 shares of stock of the Pennsylvania National, plus a cash distribution of $50. The Dime Bank directors will become associate directors of the new entity.
