State police at the Lehighton barracks said they ended pursuit of a BMW M3 vehicle in Franklin Township in the interest of public safety.

Police said they attempted to stop the vehicle for Title 75 violations at Route 248 and State Road at 8:43 p.m. Sept. 1 before the driver eluded them.
