Northwestern posted wins in both boys soccer and golf on Thursday.
BOYS SOCCER
Northwestern-Palisades
Northwestern remained undefeated and unscored upon after a 9-0 Colonial League victory over Palisades.
Matt Johnson had two goals and three assists for the Tigers, who are now 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the league. The defending state champs have outscored their opponents by a 40-0 margin.
Jack Mauro also netted two goals and added an assist, while Isaac Frey tallied twice.
The winners received four assists from Jacob van Lierop, with Caelan Stangil, Logan Mesics and Francesco Ponte also picking up goals.
Blue Mountain-Lehighton
In a Schuylkill League contest called at halftime due to inclement weather, Blue Mountain edged Lehighton by a 1-0 score.
A goal by Evan Bursics allowed the Eagles - who outshot the Indians 8-0 - to improve to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the league.
Lehighton (3-3; 1-2) received seven saves from goalie Bryce Miller.
GOLF
Pen Argyl-Northwestern
Northwestern’s Ethan Kozlowski and Cole Dynda tied for medalist honors, leading the Tigers to a 408-451 Colonial League victory over Pen Argyl.
Kozlowski and Dynda both recorded 78s, while teammate Erik Mather added a round of 80.
The win lifts Northwestern to 9-3, while the Green Knights dropped to 5-6.

Pleasant Valley-Nazareth
Pleasant Valley’s Lydon Patascher shot a one-under 71 to gain medalist honors, but the Bears fell to Nazareth 374-421 in Eastern Pennsylvania Conference action.
PV also received a solid round of 76 from Ben Bush.
The loss dropped the Bears to 5-8, while the Blue Eagles improved to 13-1.

Marian-Mahanoy Area
Abbey Kluck had 16 kills and 13 digs to help Marian sweep past Mahanoy Area 25-14, 25-17, 25-19 in Schuylkill League action.
The Fillies, now 3-2 and 2-1 in the league, also received 25 assists, three aces, three kills and four digs from Julia Meiss, while Isabella Horvat added 12 kills and six aces.
Others contributing to the win included Megan Reaman (nine digs), Zoe Katona (six digs), Caydense Smith (five digs), Alena Lombardo (four kills, two blocks) and Gianna Griguoli (three kills, three blocks).
The loss evened Mahanoy’s record at 2-2.
Panther Valley-Weatherly
Panther Valley remained undefeated after cruising to a 25-5, 25-14, 25-11 Schuylkill League victory over Weatherly.
Riley McArdle led the way for the Panthers (5-0; 3-0) with 12 kills, nine digs and seven aces.
Emma Dacey also contributed 10 aces, four digs and three kills, while Caroline Breslin chipped in with five digs and an ace.
For the Wreckers, who slipped to 0-4 overall and 0-3 in the league, Kelly Reiner had seven digs and a kill. Abby Weston added five digs.
Lehighton-Pine Grove
Lehighton dropped the opening set, but stormed back to claim a 14-25, 25-11, 25-18, 25-9 Schuylkill League victory over Pine Grove.
Makenna Snyder finished with 11 kills for the Indians, now 4-1 overall and 3-1 in the league. The winners also received four kills, five aces and three blocks from Lorah Thomas.
Others aiding the Indian cause included Lyla Kershner (10 digs, four assists, five aces) and Autumn Clewell (19 assists, three aces, nine digs).
The loss dropped the Cardinals to 1-3.
Jim Thorpe at Pottsville
Jim Thorpe took the opening set, but Pottsville managed to come back to earn a 19-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-18 Schuylkill League victory.
The win allowed the Crimson Tide to remain undefeated at 5-0, and handed the Olympians (3-1) their first loss.
Thorpe’s Brooke Mitzen finished with 20 kills and six digs, while Jaelynn Browdy had nine kills, 12 digs, and 11 service points.
The Olympians also received 40 assists from Maggie Hallihan and 21 digs from Olivia Calcano. Kelsey Patton contributed eight kills and two blocks, and Brianna Snisky finished with six kills and four blocks.
Saucon Valley-Palmerton
Saucon Valley handed Palmerton a 25-23, 25-17, 25-13 Colonial League defeat.
Sadie Gair had 17 assists for the Blue Bombers (1-6; 0-3), while Hailey Bailey finished with six kills and Clair Thomas added five kills.
The win upped Saucon Valley’s record to 2-1.
