New traffic patterns at Brodheadsville roundabout

Drivers will face a new traffic pattern beginning today in Brodheadsville.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said canging traffic patterns and restrictions will begin today at 7 a.m.. Expect delays and use caution driving through the work zone.

By Friday afternoon, a new traffic control pattern will be in place with a four-way intersection controlled by temporary signals. This new pattern is necessary to allow crews to finish work on a new roundabout at this intersection.

Flaggers will assist traffic flow is planned until the temporary traffic signal is fully functional.

This work is part of an ongoing project to construct roundabouts at the Route 209/115 intersection and the Route 209/Pleasant Valley Lane intersection, a new traffic signal at Route 209 and Pilgrim Way/Pleasant Valley Middle School Drive, pedestrian accommodations, retaining wall, pedestrian lighting system and other miscellaneous construction.

The project also includes widening of both routes 209 and 115 from two to four lanes around the Pleasant Valley School District campus.

The project area, which is located in the village of Brodheadsville, begins on Route 209 at Fawn Valley Drive to approximately 900 feet past Erin Lane and on Route 115 from approximately Route 209 to approximately 800 feet past Countryside Drive.

The $18,823,325 project began in March 2021 and is anticipated to be complete in November 2024.
