A Schuylkill County man was jailed this week for assaulting a woman.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Thomas Kelly, 24, of Pottsville, was charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct following an incident about 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 133 Main St., in Seltzer. Troopers said during an argument Kelly repeatedly struck Morgan Natale, 24, of the above address, in the head and facial area causing several bruises, scratches and about a one-inch laceration to her right ankle.Natale was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center South, Pottsville, for treatment of her injuries.Kelly was arraigned before duty District Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua, and committed to the county prison in lieu of $25,000 straight bail.
