A 71-year-old Fogelsville man had nearly $10,000 stolen from him in a theft by deception incident that is being investigated by state police at Fogelsville.

Police said they were called at 10 a.m. July 29 to a property on Overlook Lane, Lowhill Township, where the man reported he had $9,850 stolen from him.

He told police someone posing as a representative of his bank transferred the money out of his bank account.
