Tree brings down power lines in Lower Towamensing

Forest Inn Road in Lower Towamensing Township was closed Friday morning as PennDOT workers clean off debris and PPL Electric crews work to restore power after early morning storms blew through the area. The Aquashicola fire company was dispatched to the scene around 4 a.m. for a tree down against a home. The tree also brought power lines down. The scene is about a quarter mile north of Delaware Avenue in Palmerton. In addition, 1,800 Summit Hill homes were without power beginning around 8:30 in the morning and power was flickering in other communities around the region, even with blue skies.
