Lansford adds more musical event dates

Lansford Borough Council granted approvals for several upcoming events, including additional dates for Lansford Alive’s Music in the Park.

Several dates for the live music events in Kennedy Park this summer were canceled because of rain, or anticipated storms.

New dates include Sept. 10, 17 and 24, and Oct. 1.

Council also approved opening the newly-acquired Lansford train station from noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 26 to accommodate tours during Tamaqua Rail Fest, which brings many train enthusiasts to the area.

Council also set free yard sale days for residents on Sept. 2 and 3, which is during the Labor Day weekend. Normally, residents need to obtain a $10 permit for a yard sale for two consecutive days, Wendy Butrie, secretary, said.

Council also set the date for the Lansford Halloween event from 2-6 p.m. Oct. 29 at Ashton Park.
