Walker Township’s Wildcat Park gets new look

Walker Township kicked off the upgrades to Wildcat Park by resealing the two courts in the park in July.

“I wanted to thank the volunteers who helped out with the refurbishing of our tennis and basketball courts,” said Supervisor Craig Wagner. “They did a terrific job.”

The courts were resealed and new lines painted. Next week, lines for a new pickleball court will be added to the tennis court.

Walker Township employees and volunteers did the work with materials purchased from SealMaster of Allentown.

The project has a budget of approximately $80,000.

In addition to the resurfacing, the project includes replacing the swings and adding a new play structure. The current monkey bars, sliding board, and merry-go-round will stay. For Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, a handicapped parking space, paved pathways, and special swings will be added.

New electric lines were run from the township building to the park pavilion.
