Local 4-H members work hard all year to raise animals for the livestock auction.

This year the livestock auction will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12. There will be five beef steer, 11 dairy beef steer, 13 lambs, three hogs, 15 goats and four meat pens for rabbits offered for sale.

Through fair week there will be several events including 4-H and Open Goat Show at 1 p.m. Monday, 4-H and open sheep show at 1 p.m. Tuesday and 4-H showmanship contest at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Because of Avian flu concerns there will not be a poultry show this year.
