St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mahoning, located at 826 Mahoning Dr. W., Lehighton announces the following services and events:

• Outside Worship Service, Sunday at 10:45 a.m. with Holy Communion

• Grief Support at 6 p.m. Monday.

• Community Cupboard: Dinkey Memorial has a food cupboard available to those in need of supplemental food resources. It is available to members of Dinkey Memorial and St. John’s, and to residents of East Penn Township. The distribution is the third Thursday of every month from 3:30-5 p.m. in Dinkey’s Social Room, located below the sanctuary. If you or anyone you know would benefit from receiving food from the Community Cupboard, please speak with Pastor Tony.

Trinity Happenings

Trinity Lutheran Church at 175 South 3rd St., announces the following:

• First Saturday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, at 4 p.m. Saturday.

• Sunday worship with Holy Communion begins at 9:30 a.m.

Communion is served by continuous line with wafer placed in your open hand, and wine or grape juice in a small cup. Gluten free wafers are available to those with allergy issues. Rev. Nancy Moore presides.

• There is no First Friday Quiet communion in August.

• Livestream audio is available at the church website (tlclehighton.com). Video with audio rebroadcasts available on the Facebook page (www.facebook.com/TrinityLehighton) later on Sunday mornings. Church phone: 610-377-4303.

• The Food Pantry continues to be open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (and third Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents in need who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive prepackaged supplemental food items. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.

• The Trinity Thrift Store hours are Wednesdays 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donation drop-offs are accepted during store hours Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, limited to five bags or boxes.
