Panther Valley personnel

The Panther Valley School Board approved the following personnel moves and coaches at its meeting Wednesday night:

• Approved the resignation of Rebecca Ebbert, elementary school secretary, effective July 21.

• Hired JoAnn Petosa as an elementary secretary effective Aug. 3 at a rate of $17.19 an hour, per the current contract with Teamsters Local 773.

• Hired Nicole Smith as a full-time, permanent school nurse at a salary of $43,436, per the current contract.

• Approved three-credit courses taken by Lauren Edsall, a junior/senior high school teacher, and Amber McFadden, an elementary teacher, both at a cost of $516 a credit. Edsall is taking Art Criticism at Kutztown University, while McFadden is taking Research Problems in Reading at East Stroudsburg University.

• Approved Candice Boyle as a chaperon for the 2023-24 school year.

• Approved mentors for new teachers as Kristen Matalavage for Shania Fisher, and Tatiana Shellhamer for Reanta Lawrence.

• Abolished the position of school lunch monitor effective immediately. Superintendent David McAndrew Jr. said the district has had trouble filling the position, and decided to do away with it.

• Posted the position of a part-time speech/language therapist.

• Revised the resignation of Scott Weiss, effective Aug. 18. The previous date was Aug. 4.
