The Lehigh County coroner's office has identified the man killed in the crash this afternoon in Lynn Township.

John J. Merchlinsky, 54, of Gilberton, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:26 p.m. on an icy road at the intersection of Route 309 and Gun Club Road.

Merchlinsky was the driver of a motor vehicle in a collision with multiple vehicles. The crash occurred shortly after 1 p.m. The road was closed for several hours.

The Lehigh County coroner's office and state police at Fogelsville are conducting the investigation.
