A man described by police as homeless is facing numerous criminal charges in Mahoning Township, including possession of marijuana.
Matthew Demaree, 26, was arrested as a result of an incident on Feb. 3.Chief of Police Audie Mertz said at 12:24 p.m. Feb. 3, police received a complaint of harassment by communications.The caller said Demaree was in a vehicle at the Zion Lutheran Church parking lot in Packerton. When police arrived, they found Matthew sitting inside a vehicle which had an inspired inspection sticker and expired registration.Police said in addition, he had a suspended driver's license, and he was in possession of marijuana and several items of drug paraphernalia.Demaree was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and summary offense.He was arraigned and released on unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 18.
