The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a winter storm watch, which is in effect from Saturday afternoon through Saturday night.

Snow accumulations of 5 to 7 inches are possible. Ice accumulations of a tenth of an inch are possible.

Snow is expected to overspread the area by midday from southwest to northeast and it could become heavy at times. As warmer air moves in, the snow should mix with sleet and freezing rain before tapering off.
