An Easton man is charged in the 2013 shooting death of a man in Bethlehem.
Lehigh County authorities charged Kawan A. Morrison, 25, in the death of Ian Juma, 21, who was shot on June 29, 2013.Morrison has been jailed in Northampton County Prison.Lehigh County District Attorney James B. Martin announced the filing of the charge at a news conference Thursday.Juma was shot at 10:15 p.m. in the 700 block of Eighth Avenue in Bethlehem, then died at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill.An analysis of DNA found on cigarette butts and fingerprints inside Juma's girlfriend's car, which was found near the scene, was linked to Morrison.Bethlehem police also recovered Juma's cellphone, and found messages from "Pop" about a drug transaction. "Pop" was identified as an associate of Morrison's.Morrison, also known as "Kapone," was identified as the person who shot Juma twice after a physical altercation.
