Nature center holds annual photo contest

Lehigh Gap Nature is hosting its second annual Nature in Photographs show at the NatureCenter's Osprey House.

Amateur nature photographers from throughout our region have entered the competition, and the LGNC panel of judges has selected the top 90 photographs in three categories Lehigh Gap Nature Center, Pennsylvania, and Earth-Air-Water-Light to be displayed in theshow.The public is welcome to view the free show daily from March 20 through April 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition, the Nature Center's Osprey House will be open to visitors for special evening hours on Wednesday through Friday, March 25-27 and April 1-3.All are welcome to the photographers' reception to be held on Sunday from 3-5 p.m.The reception and show are sponsored by Dan's Camera City, CardinalCamera, Tamron, and Lehigh Gap Nature Center.In addition to selecting the photos to be included in the show, the judges have also selected the top three place winners in each category.During the show, visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite photo, with the winning photo receiving the People's Choice Award, the top honor in the show.The winner of the People's Choice voting and the first runner-up will receive either a 24-by-36-inch metal print from Dan's Camera City or a 16-by-20-inch canvas wrap print from Cardinal Camera.Cardinal Camera also provided three $25 gift cards for the three category winners, and each of those will also receive a camera bag from Tamron.The Lehigh Gap Nature Center is a member-supported wildlife conservation and environmental education organization with its office located at the Osprey House in Lehigh Gap.For more information about the center and its programs, contact them at 610-760-8889,
