PADSA joins providers to raise awareness
The Pennsylvania Adult Day Services Association (PADSA) will join providers throughout the nation during the week of September 15th through the 21st to raise public awareness of the accessibility, affordability, and effectiveness of Adult Day Centers as part of Adult Day Services week.
Adult Day Centers provide professional care, affordable care, and responsible care in order that families may maintain independent living as a viable and healthful alternative to long-term care nursing home placement of a family member.Adult Day Centers agree with seniors that "There's No Place Like Home" and Centers work with families to accommodate the desire of seniors to age well in their own homes safely and cost effectively.PADSA is undertaking a statewide effort to educate legislators and other decision makers to realize the positive and cost effective impact that Adult Day Centers make in delivering long term care services for both seniors and younger individuals with disabilities who cannot be left alone.PADSA says that Adult Day Centers are a resourceful, cost-effective, long-term care alternative:• Adult Day Centers provide professional care, responsible care, affordable care, and support group programs to help families maintain independent living by allowing respite time for family caregivers.• Adult day services benefit employers by providing employees who are caregivers with a viable work/life solution that can result in a more productive and satisfied workforce.• Adult Day Centers are a viable economic alternative to costly nursing home institutionalization. By assisting families to keep their loved ones at home for as long as possible, they provide cost savings over nursing home placement at a 2.5 to 1 ratio for state and federal programs providing long-term care to seniors and individuals with disabilities. The Pennsylvania Adult Day Services Association is the voice of Pennsylvania providers and the consumers they serve. PADSA works closely with government regulators and strives to enhance the quality of professionalism of Adult Day Services through advocacy, education, and support for operations, networking and marketing.
