Plans once again exist to possibly construct a skate park in the borough of Jim Thorpe.

It was suggested that the park be placed at Memorial Park where the tennis courts currently are, near the intersection of Fern and E. Ninth streets, however it was noted that the borough currently has a paper street through the area.In order for this project to proceed, the borough would have to vacate the paper street.If the borough does not hit any snags in the planning process, the park could be open to the public in 2008.
