Work on an addition to the Lehighton Fire Department's buildings is about 40 percent complete. Lehighton borough manager Nicole Beckett said occupancy is expected by the end of the year. New bays, office space, shower facilities, and a storage area are being added to the building on South Third Street. In addition, Stations 1 and 2 of the Fire Department will be connected.
