Motorists using Route 209 through Lehighton and the Packerton areas know very well the lengthy traffic jams occurring from road construction. Those driving delays should soon be over.Work has been completed on the Route 209 improvement project. The project included resurfacing nearly four miles of US209 between the Thomas J. McCall Memorial Bridge and Susquehanna Street in Jim Thorpe.The Lehighton project began in April. The bulk of the work occurred during the past four weeks.
