Last month, supervisors approved a list of roads it intends to work on this summer, but Bake Oven Road was not among them.

Nancy Hoppel told the board Monday night she thought they made a mistake by leaving it out."People going down that road are puncturing oil tanks," she said. "Tourists go up there to hike and bird watch. You take a chance every time you use it."Hoppel said she complained last year but the road crew only cut grass along the side of the road."I think it's a poor reflection on the township not to address that," she said.Cunfer said Bake Oven had previously been discussed for a dirt and gravel road project and that the roadmaster would evaluate the situation.
