Dozens of area firefighters and emergency personnel toured the Carbon County Correctional Facility in
Nesquehoning during a drill Monday evening to help prepare volunteers in case of an emergency at the prison. The group toured the cellblocks of the 20-year-old building to familiarize themselves with the layout of the steel and cinder block structure. The drill was aimed at going over the evacuation plan for inmates in case of fire or other disaster at the prison. A story on the tour will be published in Saturday's edition.
