The meeting is scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday afternoon (Nov. 20) at Heffley's office at the Pfc. Clyde R. Houser Jr. Building, also known as the Lehighton Borough Annex.
Residents will have a chance to discuss the state's budget impasse, the Syrian refugee crisis, as well as the heroin/prescription drug problem.
"We have been inundated with emails, and since there's so much going on in Harrisburg, we haven't had time to communicate. I just wanted to give some time for people who are available during the day," Heffley said.
Heffley normally holds regular telephone town halls, but said that they have been put on hold during the state budget negotiations.
He said that constituents have been calling him about a number of issues, but in recent days the most discussed topic has been Syrian refugees, and whether they should continue to be allowed to travel to the United States.
