The Pennsylvania State Police remind motorists to be cautious while driving on the roadways this holiday weekend, especially in areas of heavy traffic congestion and road construction.
The Pennsylvania State Police will increase patrols over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Troopers will be looking for aggressive drivers as well as seat belt violations. Numerous DUI patrols will also be conducted across the state.The Thanksgiving holiday weekend is one of the busiest traveled weekends of the year. The holiday and the start of Christmas shopping bring an increase in vehicles traveling on the roadways. Motorists should give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations safely. When traveling long distances, motorists should use rest areas if they are feeling tired and fatigued. Motorists should remain aware that the cold temperatures have the potential to cause slippery conditions on the roadway.
